Project Overview

The Bodleian Library, the main research library of the University of Oxford, is one of the oldest libraries in Europe, and in Britain is second in size only to the British Library with over 11 million items.

AC were delighted to partner with main contractor Mace on the project, with the historic Bodleian representing a significant challenge for both parties. Owned by the University of Oxford, great care had to be taken when operating across the site to preserve the classic architecture. This multi disciplinary project is testament to the diversity of skill available to contractors through the varied functions of the AC Group.

AC Manufacturing was tasked with the creation of bespoke library storage units, herringbone flooring, the shop reception desk and custom seating blocks; all of which can be viewed in the gallery. High quality timber products were used throughout, doing justice to the excellent standard of workmanship that shaped the final units.
